That’s great, Losmi! I love the idea of getting up early, but I never seem to be productive when I have an early start. I’m definitely an afternoon/night person.

My current chair has Bluetooth capability, which I love, but as far as I know, I can’t control the chair from a device. My ATP is looking into it – I’ll keep y’all updated!

We have a generator, yes! It wasn’t functional at the time, but since then, we’ve got it up and running.

Omg yes! I would love that. I’ve been really impressed with how they’ve handled rare diseases.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience – I feel you there. I’ve decided to postpone till there’s a COVID vaccine, but still planning on getting an SPC soon.

Oof, I feel that so much. The cycle is real. But achieving balance definitely takes time – it’s a lifelong journey!

Thanks, Mike! Yes, the diversity of SMW is our top priority. Genentech reached out to several BIPOC influencers in the beginning but never heard back from them. We’re working on recruiting BIPOC ambassadors right now!

I actually had to cancel my subscription because my insurance wouldn’t cover it, but I’m looking into alternatives!

Ultimately, face-to-face therapy is still ideal. It allows client and counselor to form a strong therapeutic alliance. Virtual therapy is definitely gaining traction, but it’s still relatively new, so there’s not a lot of research available, either in support of or against it. That being said, I do think it’s a viable option. You might not get the full benefits of therapy, as you would face-to-face, but there are pros to platforms like Talkspace, like asynchronous communication that allows you to message your provider whenever. In my opinion, one of the more frustrating aspects of face-to-face therapy is the time lag. I met with my previous therapist biweekly, and I often found that I’d forgotten what I wanted to talk about by the time the session rolled around. Also, Talkspace lets you send asynchronous voice and video messages for no extra cost, so you still get a bit of that face-to-face feel!

Oof! I always sprained my ankle once because a neighborhood dog wrapped himself around my chair ???? Not fun!
